Sound/Social

Sound/Social was my Final Year Project at university. I describe it as 'an interfaceless collaborative music creation environment. Using motion tracking and software that delocalises and redistributes sound within a space, users are encouraged to explore the environment in new ways'. It is created in Max MSP and uses motion tracking and a network of speakers to impose short, 4 second sound loops on the positions of the people within the space.

Past and Future Potentials

A university project where I proposed an alternative layout for Pin Lane in Plymouth. I tracked peoples movement within the space and applied algorithms that transformed their behaviour into a river metaphor, gradually constructing and decaying the site.

Learn more about it and view the project, including a video demonstrating how peoples movements would affect Pin Lane and a booklet documenting my process on its dedicated site.

Tooka

Logo design for a company specialising in ‘Third Lung’ diving – a system that gives divers the freedom to dive without the encumbrance of traditional scuba gear. The client wanted something on-trend, timeless and to fit in with what the apparatus does.

The client wanted the brand to stand out on its own, and also easily tie in with the tagline ‘I Tooka Dive’.

Cave of the Golden Calf

I was commissioned by Oxford University's New College to design and make the programme for the 2010 Commemoration Ball. I was told the theme for the ball was 'The Cave of the Golden Calf'. I opted to create a modern take on Wyndham Lewis' lithography artwork for the original Cave of the Golden Calf, using colored vorticisms to give a feel of each of the events taking place.

The vorticisms were created using Cinema 4D to create a library of abstract models, and then vectoring them with a strict colour palette for each area.

Find out more about the ball on their website(not created by me).

Summer of Live Stories

Branding and microsite created for the Absolute Radio competition Summer of Live Stories. The competition encouraged Absolute Radio listeners to write short stories about their favorite experiences of live music events. These stories would then be pitted against each other in a knockout format, with the public voting for their favourite stories. The eventual winners were given free tickets to live events.

HAWTMW

Hello and Welcome to My World is a poster design aimed at bringing homelessness to the forefront of peoples attention. I wanted to use bold, attention-grabbing typography alongside less standout photography.

The idea is that often people turn a blind eye to homelessness and a series of posters could raise awareness about it.
